Mt. Kenya Treks - at 5,199 m. Mount Kenya is Africa’s
second highest mountain. Part of the mountain’s fascination is the variation in
flora and fauna as the altitude changes. The lower slopes are covered with dry
upland forest. The true montane forest begins at 2,000 m and is mainly cedar and
podo. At 2,500 m begins a dense belt of bamboo forest which merges into the
upper forest of smaller trees, interspersed with glades and trees are festooned
with high altitude moss.
Kenya Private Safaris - we combine game viewing in
national parks with game walking in wilderness areas. Our activities provide
ecologically friendly safaris in association with local communities. Our safari
vehicles are still important for getting us to the best places to commence our
game walking safaris. We aim to ensure that every trip we operate has some
benefits to the local communities and we are strict to abide by an environmental
code of ethics.
Kenya Fixed Departure Safaris - For the budget tours,
we use purposely built expedition trucks, and mini-buses ideal for organized
groups. The trucks have space to pack all the necessary equipment/luggage; also
high enough to facilitate good vision and photography. Here the driver is the
guide while the cook will prepare fresh food over wood fires. Those who truly
wish to see Africa closely, its wildlife and people at reasonable cost, this is
a very convenient way - often being part of a group of other people makes the
safari all the more exciting, new friends can be made. We have semi permanent
campsites at Maasai Mara and Samburu where we provide stand up tents, beds and
mattresses, showers and clean toilets.
